Montreal, December 1, 2009 – Société GRICS is happy to announce the availability of Lumix-GPI, a new tool designed to support school administrations in achieving their primary goal: student success.

Lumix-GPI provides users with a highly effective way of tracking student performance. It is a state-of-the-art tool featuring the latest data warehousing technologies. With Lumix-GPI, users can access a wealth of information with no impact on their organization's other systems.

Lumix-GPI compiles and aggregates select data from the GPI system in order to drill-down and analyze statistics related to major performance indicators for a school board or individual school. Data is stored in a way that ensures rapid subsequent retrieval and analysis, despite the massive amount of information involved. Three areas can thus be analyzed: academic grades, absenteeism and student attendance.

This tool also helps users determine how much of an impact local initiatives are having on student success. Two types of processing are possible: 1) dashboard-style overviews; and 2) drill-down data analysis.

Lumix-GPI comes with several sample dashboards, allowing users to have an at-a-glance view of the performance of their schools. For example, the system can be used to show board-wide pass rates for a given subject or competency and then, depending on user subqueries, to correlate this data with over 80 criteria, including school, group, gender, age, special needs code, teacher and so forth.
