SIMACS (GES Technologies Inc.)
System for Asset Renewal and Resource Allocation

The MELS has been on the lookout for a new software designated for the school boards of Quebec to help them deal with asset renewals and resource allocations. MELS has finally opted for SIMACS (SARRA, a property of GES Technologies Inc).

Since Société GRICS is mandated by MELS to distribute this product in the school boards, the company will collaborate with GES Technologies Inc. for the implementation of the project.

The responsibilities of each company as to the implementation is divided as follows:

Server location: Société GRICS guarantees the required infrastructure for the central server location of SIMACS for all users.

Training: Société GRICS has set up four-day training sessions for groups of approximatively four school boards that will be held mostly in Montreal and Quebec. However, there is a possibility of holding few training sessions in the Quebec area. A Société GRICS specialist provides a two-day software training session and GES Technology Inc. ensures another two-day training session for data capture of building inventory and condition assessments.

Client support: Société GRICS ensures direct support for its clients on the use of the software. GES Technology Inc. provides additional technical support by telephone as to all other aspects of engineering (prototype identification, data capture protocol, etc.). GES Technology Inc. also provides all technical documentation relevant to data capturing (training users guide, prototypes repertory, data capture forms, etc.).

Software development: Since Société GRICS doesn’t have an access to the product code, GES Technologies Inc. is thus responsible for any software development as to damages control and/or improvements.
