End of support on specific browsers and operating systems

Montréal, October 1, 2009 – During the Groupe des gestionnaires des technologies (GGT – Technology Managers Group) held in Québec City last June, announcements were made concerning the end of support on specific Web browsers and operating systems.

Browsers

With the upcoming versions of Société GRICS’ applications, the support on many browsers will gradually stop within the next 12 months. The following versions will not be supported:

  • Internet Explorer, versions 5 and 6;

  • Firefox, versions  1 and 2;

  • Safari, versions 1 and 2.

 Please note that Google Chrome will not be supported.

In the future, Société GRICS will perform a yearly assessment of the supported browsers and versions in relation to their impact on the optimization of our applications.

In addition, we would like to remind you that it is important to wait before installing the latest browser versions. As long as they are not tested by Société GRICS, they will not be supported.  Please visit the General bulletin board for more details on supported versions for Société GRICS' applications.

Operating systems

During the GGT, Société GRICS also announced the end of support on specific operating systems within the next 12 months. The following operating systems will not be supported:

  • Windows 98;

  • Windows 2000 Workstation;

  • Windows 2000 Server.

As for Novell, this platform will not be tested or supported.
